Globalization has led to a growing demand for English language. This demand has not only led to the spread of English world over but has also brought with it new methods and ideas for teaching and learning the English language. English thus has witnessed a paradigm shift in learning and teaching from traditional linguistic method to English for Specific Purpose (ESP). The role of the teacher or instructor has also shifted and has developed from traditional model to that of a facilitator. ESP has globally led to a shift from the traditional teacher-centered approach to a student-centered approach. And this approach does not focus on how much the students know at the end of the study but on how well they can use what they know. Therefore, the shift is more toward the outcome, and thereby ESP has turned out to be outcome-based. In this scenario, this paper aims to discuss the need for ESP in the globalized world and Business English as ESP, which is more outcome-based. The paper also talks about fitting Business English into the curriculum, assessment, and the learning outcomes.
