The ill effects of negative politics are experienced by   most of us in our daily work life. The negative politics saps our creativity and   entails a heavy price in psychological terms. Positive politics is the ability   to influence the behavior of others for the purpose of achieving the goals of   individuals as well as organizational goals.I am completely fed up with the dirty way people behave in my office. All I   am interested is to do the job for which my organization pays my salary. I would   prefer to stay away from the murky politics that goes around in my office.  
                    It is   so demotivating and I am exasperated with the roadblocks I face day in and day   out. People are just not bothered about the damage they are inflicting to the   organization." Chances are that you might have heard such reactions from people   working in various organizations. Chances are that such people over a period of   time seriously look for alternative jobs and quit their present organization at   the earliest opportunity.  
                    Negative politics in organizations are waste of people's energy. Office   politics affect the productivity of the employees and the health of an   organization. Most of us experience the ill effects of negative politics at some   stage of our working lives. One does not have to work in a formal organization   to be familiar with office politics. Anyone who has ever had any job, casual,   contractual or permanent employment in any workplace would understand the   dynamics of office politics. The strong bias of the boss for stereotyping, the   scheming personal secretary who manipulates the boss at his/her will, the   colleague who is smarting with the green eyed monster called jealousy at the   promotion you have obtained on meritare all too familiar to us. They are all the   ingredients of what normally is described as negative office politics.   |
