Feelings can encompass both positive and negative responses. For example, affection usually refers to a person's inclination towards another person or thing expressed and passion means a very powerful emotion that can cause effective change. This article focuses on the types of feelings and how they play an important role in shaping human behavior.

At the Cricket World Cupduring the final match..the last over.the players and all cricket lovers hold their breathbecause each ball decides the fate of the team which will hold the glorious World Cup. The thoughts that cross are feelings

Feelings are physiologically coupled with emotions, thoughts and behaviors. A baby smiles on seeing its mother and stops crying when it gets into its mother's arms. Student faces tension during exams. It is a conscious mental state, a sense of well-being and plays important role in many human activities. The English word `emotion' is derived from the French words émotion and émouvoir (emovere means `out' and movere means `move'). Feelings or emotions can be expressed by a baby, a kid, a teenager, a middle-aged person or by an old person. All human beings have feelings, but their way of expression differs according to culture, social class and gender. Feelings can be a collection of standards, the degree of which varies with each individual. Feelings are flexible and express one's personality and personal style.

Feelings depend on circumstances, actions or events. We interpret the event in our conscious or unconscious thoughts about the situation. For example, if the boss fires someone in front of the other employees, he gets insulted and then feels angry or frustrated. (Getting insulted is the situation, while anger or frustration is the feeling). In the same way, winning the Best Cadet Award is the event and becoming happy, for it is the feeling.

We normally use the word "gut feeling" which means a perception that our conscience says "the right thing to do". Feelings are hard to express and also to share with others. When we are happy, the glow on our face and sparkle in our eyes convey the message. Similarly, our face shows sadness and sorrow. One must understand feelings within oneself first before expressing. You can share your worries with your loved ones who can understand you and help you get out of it. You're not the only person on the earth with problems or worries. But when you share your negative feelings, problems and worries vanish magically. At that time someone else knows what's bothering you and can help or suggest you find feasible/worthy solutions. Sharing feelings with others is important, whether it is positive or negative. When you share the positive feelings it generates happiness. When you share negative feelings you get support and caring from others.
