Innovative technologies and rapid changes in business environment have created occupational stress and strain in the lifestyles of individuals. So the biggest challenge faced by the leaders in these turbulent times is to motivate the stressed and strained human resources led by them. Human resources, hitherto considered as the means of getting things done, are now considered as empowered energies that can be administered only with compassion and wisdom which paves the way for developing the Spiritual Intelligence (SI)the ultimate intelligence. This will facilitate the development of human resources in the true sense providing the right foundation for one's inner development also. The authors emphasize that this process will help individuals understand how they can use SI while handling complex situations and other individuals. This will also support in transforming existing organizations into organizations having passionate work culture.

Today's organizations are pass ing through an extremely competitive milieu. Technology management, strategic HR and performance are the most crucial factors for determining the effectiveness of any organization. In this regard, learning individuals, learning organizations, strategic planning, competitive advantages, ignited minds, unleashing brain-power, flexibility, passionate work-culture, etc., are a few substantial management buzz words these days. To keep pace with the world and to meet job demands, one has to be ahead of the fiercely competitive benchmark and this leads to elevated mental and physical health risks.

Due to high-level job strain, individuals are suffering from occupational stress which leads to depression. A UK Government report released recently shows that the number of people in their 30s suffering from distress has doubled since 1987 becoming one in seven from one in 14. Moreover, worldwide suicide rates have risen 60% in the last 45 years. According to a recent Gallup poll, 64% of employees say they are depressed, anxious and wished they worked elsewhere. As many as 74% of workers are disengaged clock watchers who can't wait to go home. Executives, who are working harder, longer and getting less out of it, are unable to handle stress and are getting frustrated and 45% of top management is currently looking for a new position. If companies focus only on a single bottom line- "Money or Profit", they will not be able to sustain themselves in the 21st century and this will, in turn, lead to a global crisis.

To cope with these harsh realities of the corporate world, organizations must offer a greater sense of meaning and purpose for their workforce as the best talent seeks out organizations that reflect their inner values and provide opportunities for personal development and community service, not just bigger salaries. In today's robot-driven era, information can be transferred with the help of single mouse click and it leads to building of better relationships with consumers.
