United we stand, divided we fall" is a proverb about which we probably don't know when it was born but one thing we definitely know is that it holds tremendous importance in our daily life whether it is professional or personal. Nowadays, we all try to achieve success in our endeavors, especially in our careers, either individually or we try to take the credit even if there has been group participation in achieving that success. Both are harmful as unless and until we don't join hands together and work like a team, it will be extremely difficult for us to sustain in this fiercely competitive market.

Man has always strived for improvement and he has achieved immense success in his efforts to possess all the positive qualities like tenacity, perseverance, dedication, and of all quality, which has played a pivotal role in making human beings supreme in professional as well as personal life is the ability to work in a team and develop a `Team Spirit'. Therefore, it goes without saying that in the absence of this utmost quality, no organization, whether engaged in economic or philanthropic activities, can afford to dream of attaining its goals.

As we all know, for survival and growth, one has to undertake some activities aimed at creating value. In other words, one needs to go for economic activities like employment, profession and business. In this article, we will focus on the importance of integration in successful management of business organization affairs.

Now a question that can be posed here is that if there are other forms of economic activities then why is it that business is taken up as a basis for study? The rationale behind this is that, business is the macro form of economic activity and everyday, every moment, it has to face strange challenges, which at times get so troublesome that organizations have to invest huge amount of time and efforts in inventing techniques to overcome them.

It is therefore extremely essential that CEOs, Board of Directors and other key personnel of organizations should give due emphasis to all the aspects of business instead of concentrating on a few areas; otherwise, there is a probability that a particular department feels ignored and the human capital associated with the concerned department may feel demotivated. If this situation persists for a long time, then attrition rate is bound to rise followed by lower productivity and may even result in closure of that unit. Let me explain the case with an example. Suppose financial decisions relating to advertisement expenditures are taken without consulting the think-tanks of the marketing division, then obviously, they will feel neglected and if it becomes a repeated practice, then the organization is surely going to face its doomsday soon.
