The emergence of knowledge sectors, coupled with novel HR practices, is giving a new shape and dimension to the recruitment landscape. Even though there has been lot of positive changes in this sphere, still there is a need for a holistic approach which can, to a large extent, bridge the rural-urban divide amongst the Indian populace. The article provides insights into the area of recruitment and a roadmap for the inclusive growth.

Recruitment is one of the most important aspects of a modern day organization. The importance of employees has increased manifold, owing to the emergence of knowledge sectors. Good HR practices are being learnt by the players from other sectors, in order to attract and retain the best of the talents. Amit Maidh, an Account Manager with a leading pan-Indian job portal, opines that recruitment is not only limited to sourcing and placing manpower. Modern day recruitment is not only a complicated process, but also the expectations are manifold from all the stakeholders involved in the process. He further corroborates the fact that with talent crunch crippling operations of good organizations, the employer is willing to walk that extra mile to get the right man for the right job. This has, in turn, made the employee believe that he is the cynosure of all eyes, and also a pampered lot. All these have, in turn, made the recruitment process more dynamic.

The changes in the recruitment landscape have brought in many a new ways and methods of recruitment and other allied practices. They have optimized the utilization of available resources with the employers and employees. This, in turn, has also enabled local companies going global and vice versa. A few novel practices are as follows.
