To become a recruiter by profession it may take years, but an early start is what the industry actually looks for. This article highlights the functions and the requirements of recruitment or an executive search firm in today's world.

Recruitment is the process of attracting the talent pool for a particular position in an organization. Selection is the process of chosing the right person for the right job. Today's world is a world where every human being is running a human rat race. Everybody is in search of a right placement, decent salary and also a respectable position in the society. To meet all these ends, every individual looks forward to be in a `Right Job'. The companies, on the other hand, are also in search of the `Right Person for the Right Job'. This need arises due to constant requirement of skilled and talented manpower and also due to increase in competition in each and every phase of life.

If we consider the present job market, we can see that the job opportunities are much more than earlier days. In the past, the person who got a job was actually considered lucky, because at that time very few people actually thought of working in an office. Most of the common mass was either engaged in family business or was dependent on wealth created by forefathers. But now man has moved from stone age to the world of multimedia and information technology. To meet the demands of the present world, one has to earn a living, because life has to go on and a living has to be made. Everybody wants to climb the ladder of success faster than the rest. Some call this `Healthy Competition', while others say it's the call of the present generation.
