This article focuses on the importance of developing and maintaining best practices within the HRM function. It is believed that best practices, when applied effectively within the HRM function, can translate into a number of benefits for the organization as a whole, and lay the foundation for developing best practices at the organizational level. This article includes HR concepts and best practices pertaining to Strategic Human Resource Management (SHRM), HRM sub-functions, and employee welfare.

Organizations have an inherent desire to receive wide recognition (industry-wide, nationwide, global) for their achievements. This need for recognition and the effort towards achieving perfection have led some organizations to develop systems and best practices which are outstanding, sustainable, and innovative. These best practices not only bring recognition to the organization but also bring several direct and indirect benefits to the employees and to the organization.

Once an organization perfects a practice, it indirectly builds up positive organizational energy that leads to more successes. In the field of Human Resource Management, several methods, techniques, and practices have been implemented for achieving functional efficiency. Some have been improvised and perfected.
