Where do companies advertise when they want to reach everybody? What type of massive transportation is reachable in your area? When companies wish to keep their business on the movethey advertise on transport vehicles and transit stations. This type of advertising reaches people of all ages, backgrounds and incomes.
Advertising companies pay to public transport for space to place their ads on their vehicles. For instance, we see ads related to Polio Vaccines, Population Control Measures, HIV/AIDS, Clean & Greenon RTC buses in Andhra Pradesh. In India, we observe TV ads in public transport stations like railway stations and bus stations. The "moving billboards" address not only the riders, but also their families, students, professionals and tourists. By using bright colors, simple ideas and catchy words companies attract the people in cities, towns and even remote villages. The LCD screen which we observe in some trains, buses and airlines can be extended for all modes of transportation. "With bus passengers traveling for a minimum of 30 to 40 minutes, with few distractions other than what is directly in front them, namely the advertisements, this is the kind of advertising environment advertisers are looking for", said Abdul Aziz Malik, Acting Administrative Director, Public Transport, Government of Dubai, Road and Transport Authority.
Ads on vehicles can't be ignored or erased as they reach a diverse audience. People won't have a chance to look at the message for a long period, so innovative, large, colorful, catchy ads easily attract attention. |
