Professor Philip Kotler (born 1931), the most
respected marketing expert has been the
authority on marketing for business graduate students around the world.
His consultation and seminar practice aligned with companies like AT&T, IBM, Michelin,
Shell, General Electric, Honeywell, Bank of
America, Merck and others in the areas of marketing
strategy and planning, marketing organization and international marketing. He gave many
lectures and advertising tips to many companies on applying sound economic and
marketing principles to increase their
competitiveness throughout Europe, Asia and South America.
He even advised many governments on how to develop and position the skills and resources
of their companies to compete globally.
Professor Kotler received numerous awards for his work on marketing. These include
honorary doctorate degrees from Cracow School of Economics, University of Stockholm,
Groupe HEC, Catholic University Santo Domingo,
Athens University of Economics and Business, and
the University of Zurich.
In his stint of over 40 years of research and teaching in marketing, he contributed
significantly to Kellogg School of Management. In
Business Week's survey of US Business Schools,
Kellogg was voted as the `Best Business School' for
six years and also rated as the "Best Business
School for the Teaching of Marketing". Kotler is
largely responsible for this reorganization.
Kellogg's marketing department is regarded by the
industry as second to none. Professor Kotler completed
his Master's Degree at the University of Chicago
and his PhD at MITboth in Economics. He also
did Post-doctoral work in Mathematics at Harvard University and in Behavioral Science at
the University of Chicago. |
