Efforts in making a `student placement' start not at the PG or MBA level, but at a very young age. This article discusses what can be done at the PG level by stakeholders.

The stakeholders are: a) students themselves; b) parents; c) college and faculty members; d) corporate sector officials during internship/induction processes; and e) the general public who are the end-users of all products and services. They make all-out efforts to make the students employable. Graduates need to improve their knowledge, hone their skills and develop a positive attitude towards life in order to be versatile and to adapt to any situation. The word `graduate' is used in a very wide sense. It includes every qualification, which forms the basis for employment.

Corporates welcome freshers if they exhibit their willingness to learn coupled with the right attitude. They encourage freshers when they are convinced that the fresher can perform from day one. The students should realize this and leave no stone unturned to become employable. Placeability training programs make this possible. Our country's dualism is present in the job market as well. On the one hand, there is large-scale unemployment. On the other, the companies /employers are finding it difficult to find the right kind of people—suitable and employable. The gap between academics and real life is evident here. Now comes the need for the stakeholders to bridge the gap by developing students for placeability.
