The organized retail industry is expected to grow from the present Rs.35,000 cr to Rs. 1,00,000 cr. The future is for family entertainment centers.

Family Entertainment Centers (FECs) are an emerging concept in India. Awareness and need for FECs are increasing among the Indian population, with huge potential for growth. What are these FECs? FEC is a conglomeration of Mega Malls, Multiplexes and Entertainment Centers at one fixed location. Family Entertainment Centers are places where we can get everything under the sun. For example, items like electronics, garments, leather items, books, sports items, computer discs, cassettes, toys, computers, crockery, infant accessories, home needs, stationery, consumer durables, home appliances, perfumes, footwear, jewelry, apparel, etc. Apart from all these consumer items, at FECs, we also find some food courts there with big names like Pizza Hut and McDonalds and also restaurants, bars and pubs.

Another specialty we find there is a separate playing area for kids and wholesome entertainment for the family. There are dedicated blocks for each segment like level zero dedicated to food, level one for women's needs, level two for men's needs, level three for kids, level four for electronics, level five for exclusively entertainment housing, say a multiplex for showing movies and level six for others.

Malls are also taking care of the needs of the youngsters by providing entertainment zones having skating rinks, ski slopes and go-karting, etc. these mega malls come up with special events and competitions and offer discounts on festive occasions.
