Just as a business plan has to address key issues, ones career plans have to meet the companys unmet needs.

Managing one's career has never been as important as it is today. It should be noted that research has shown that the majority of students in business education have been looking for a workplace - the figures are as high as 83%. Students should plan to participate in a professional job environment even before they enter the job market. They should learn to `dig the well before they thirst.' They have to learn to navigate their interests towards their career.

This is what has been suggested: Remodel your life and career into a business. Create the exciting "You and Company". As an individual, think of everything one does as though it were being done by one's business. Wear many hats - i.e., the planning hat, the marketing hat, the customer service hat, the human resource hat, the IT hat, the sales hat, and the operations hat. In fact, the list of hats can go on and on. Think of one's job (as a student or as a professional when one is working) in this hat analogy and see which hat(s), angles, or issues one needs to think of to improve on the job that one is doing. Here, when we step into the field of possibilities, we will experience all the magic, fun, adventure and expansion of our career life. Of course, one needs to combine one's own efforts with those who are inside or outside specialists who may help one as colleagues, consultants or suppliers. When one plans and cares to do things proactively to better oneself career-wise, there is little or nothing that one loses.
