The main objective of Enneagram is to discover one's own trait and to build a healthy environment in an organization. The Enneagram is a powerful tool for a leader to enhance his personal and professional growth, apart from ensuring organizational growth.

Enneagram is one of the modern personality types which describe the nine mental and emotional concerns of a personality. It is a nine pointed geometric figure. The word enneagram derives from a two Greek words enna (nine) and grammos. It is a useful guide to personal as well as professional growth. It enhances different ways of approaching work and relationship, and understands the value of each within the team. Leaders, managers and staff members can learn to use the enneagram as an objective tool to identify their own characteristics of a number they are over-relying on, thus leading the way for healthy relationship which eliminates producing undesired results in their personal and professional life.

The main purpose of enneagram is to discover ones own personality type. It can bring new understanding and enlightenment to one's own self. According to enneagram, each personality type is identified in a negative way though it has a positive dimension. The compulsions are experienced as basic driving force. Discovering the compulsion involves the acceptance of hidden defensive strategy that a person developed for security and meaningful existence. Journey to self is not easy as it takes courage to acknowledge one's own compulsion. It opens the new horizons of awareness—what is going on in one's personality—and deals with it.

The perfectionalists can be wonderful leaders, providing an exemplary vision to their followers by way of setting high standards of excellence. They safeguard themselves from not getting angry, even though they experience unpleasant event. People dislike them because of their resentment and being stubborn in doing things in a perfect way. They work hard to prepare their tasks and are bothered about doing right thing in their own way. They are worried about every minute detail of the task which causes them to be slow decision- makers. They tend to blame and punish themselves for not reaching perfection. Their inner compulsion is anger. If someone fails to live up to the expectations, he tries to hide anger not expressing it explicitly which leads to resentment.
