Their eyes shine ever brighter with wet wisdom
that swims in lazy spirals like waves in the pots
from which they drink with reed straws illicit beer
made of millet, yeast and water as hot as the sun.
Their eyes shine bright with widening new wisdom
as the plantain leaves above clap natural accolades
to egg them on as they indulge in breaking the law
and arguments on clauses in the proposed constitution. |
