It has been observed that highly motivated students not only do well in their studies but also prove to be good employers or employees in the future. They are motivated when young and this stage proves crucial for their future developments and achievements. Earlier on, the whole concept of motivation was confined to employees at the workplace. Lots of discussions had taken place to find out factors of motivating employees. Many corporates these days have proper HR departments which take care of the well-being of their employees. But motivation is not that small a concept to be applied at the workplace only. The study of the dynamics of motivational processes has invited empirical attention in the field of educational psychology over the past decade.
American
psychologist, Abraham Maslow, stressed on the point that human
life is all about learning and learning only. If you want
to teach others, you will have to first learn and increase
your knowledge. At the same time, if you want to increase
your knowledge about something, you have to learn consistently.
So, even a teacher is a student himself. In this article,
my main stress is upon discussing how to motivate students
to learn effectively and efficiently in the classrooms, what
their basic motivators are and what are the do's and don'ts
in the classroom. |
