LeasePlan is the world leader in the business of vehicle leasing and fleet management, operating with a fleet of more than 1.2 million vehicles across the globe. India is LeasePlan's first foray into the Asian market. LeasePlan India started its operations in 1999, and today it has more than 6500 vehicles on the road. Headquartered in New Delhi, LeasePlan also has branch offices to service the needs of customers in Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai and Kolkata.

LeasePlan was formed in 1963 in the Netherlands under the partnership of an Opel car dealer and a Dutch bank. Together, they came up with a concept of transparency combined with advantageous financing. Since its inception, the company gave utmost importance to its clients. This continued to be the philosophy of the company for almost forty years. LeasePlan believes that every customer has enjoyed its benefits and integrity throughout this period.

The company started going international by creating LeasePlan Belgium in 1972. LeasePlan Germany, France and UK soon followed. Realizing that it should grow out of Europe, LeasePlan formed LeasePlan USA in 1983 and LeasePlan Australia in 1988. In the early 1990s, ABN AMRO acquired 100% of the LeasePlan Holding NV. During the same time, LeasePlan introduced a web-based fleet reporting tool. LeasePlan Poland and LeasePlan Greece became operational by the end of 2003. By 2004, the company had a presence in 26 countries. LeasePlan has also acquired and integrated Dial in the UK, Italy, Spain and France, and CSC in the US.
