Abstract

Over the years, the organizations felt the importance of human resource development and adopted different techniques for enhancement of the skills of the employees for the progress of the organization. A number of theories were put forward by eminent scholars from across the world. Today also, a number of management gurus are exploring new theories in the field of human resource management. Investment in High-Performance Work-Based Practices (HPWBP) leads to increased capabilities of employees. The aim of this study was to examine the relationship between high performance work-based practices, employee satisfaction, productivity and retention. Efforts were made to find the linkage between HPWBP, employee satisfaction, productivity and retention. The results reveal that there is a significant relationship between HPWBP, employee satisfaction, productivity and retention. The study is based on HR professionals of IT companies. Correlation technique was used to study the relationship between HPWBP, employee productivity and retention. The results indicate that these practices turned out to be significantly correlated with employee satisfaction, productivity and retention.
