The disinterest shown by students during the Covid-19 lockdown period prompted widespread attention and discussions on the online mode of education system. The challenges of a complex and changing world made both the students and the teachers pessimistically believe that they were facing an insurmountable crisis. But to researchers, these problems presented an ideal opportunity to find solutions which can be used to improve the situation. The problem that they wanted to explore was: "Can online mode be leveraged to enhance the teaching experience of subjects like Operations Research, Business Mathematics and other similar disciplines?" This research note intends to explore the best teaching strategies that are practical, relevant, and stimulating for undergraduates under lockdown scenarios.
The different challenges that students and professors of operations research and mathematics-based subjects faced due to the sudden change in the mode of teaching during the Covid-19 lockdown are presented here. The research questions explored were as follows:
