Abstract

Higher generation of mobile communication system requires a very high bandwidth and it can be possible using efficient modulation technique known as Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM). It has various applications in the field of wireless and wired application. Modeling of OFDM system has been done using real data audio signal as an input for different fading channels. In this paper, modeling of OFDM technique is done using Rician fading channel. Bit Error Rate (BER) is computed for OFDM system using different values of SNR. The modeling of OFDM is done using MATLAB 8.1 simulink tool.

Introduction

Bluetooth Description
Huge amount of data rate is required for future wireless communication systems. Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) spectrum is efficiently used in multimedia communication. Due to these reasons, OFDM has already been accepted by many of the future wireless communication systems. The conventional OFDM model has been modified further to reduce the value of Bit Error Ratio (BER) under different fading channels. In order to reduce the value of BER, different modulation techniques under different fading channels can be used. The proposed work has been used to model the conventional OFDM system using Rician fading channel under QAM modulation. In this work, the input signal used is audio signal and the Signal-to-Noise Ratio (SNR) value is changed, and the effect of BER is calculated for different SNR values.
