Success in being appointed to a position of executive authority is just the start of a journey, which is likely to involve excitement, trauma, delights, tension, disappointments, and drama. The lure of achieving status as an executive confers influence, infers that the person involved 'has arrived' and that they are a success, and creates an expectation too that such an achievement will guarantee continuing success.
