The first paper, "The Importance of Flexible Workforce in JIT System: A Theoretical Approach", by Tejaswini Kumar, Rashmi Srinivasaiah and Sagarika R, aims at theoretically analyzing the importance of flexible workforce in any organization. This paper does an in-depth literature survey on the topic of basic elements of Just-in-Time (JIT) in various sectors and analyzes the data, followed by discussion of case studies related to workforce flexibility in different firms. It explains the importance of having a flexible workforce. The study reveals that elements like continuous improvement and quality are closer to flexible workforce than other elements. In other words, introducing JIT through flexible workforce will be successful only if there is continuous improvement, and by implementing these two overall qualities, the organization will be improved. The study highlights and suggests a better way of using flexible workforce for the success of JIT implementation.

The second paper, "Supply Chain Impact from End Customer Demand Volatility:

A Computer-Based Simulation Approach" by Martin Lockstrom, discusses the bullwhip effect and supply chain impact. The author highlights that past research has focused on factors like supply rationing, batch size, lead time, etc., mainly from an analytical perspective and positions this paper as an avenue towards broadening the research by specifically examining the impact from end customer demand volatility perspective, not only on demand (order size) but also on inventory levels and supply chain cost. The study results confirm past research and bring new insights on the impact of component and compound bullwhip effect behavior across supply chain echelons by showing that end customer demand volatility acts as an amplifier of the bullwhip effect.

The third paper, "The Impact of Quality Commitment on the Implementation of TQM in Hensa 168 Rubber Corporation", by Nicca Jirah F Campos, Aurea Angelica A De Vera, Erikka Jielle M Gonzales, John Martin A Guevarra, Noemi L Ubaldo and Florinda G Vigonte, highlights how TQM adaptation harnesses a human resource intervention in motivating the organization's employees in working as a team. This study positions TQM as a vital aspect involved in determining and providing solutions to the quality systems problems. This study aims to assess how the company's quality commitment may be described in terms of dedication and willingness. It also identifies the difficulties encountered and attempts at ascertaining if there is a significant relationship between the company's commitment and difficulties they encountered, and if there exists any linkage between commitment and quality improvement. The researchers analyzed the variables and performed ANOVA. The study findings emphasize that quality commitment has a positive impact on TQM implementation, and the higher the dedication and willingness of the employees, the easier and fewer difficulties may be encountered while implementing TQM.

The research note, "The Need for an Inventory Control System" by Animesh Kumar Sharma, points out how, nowadays, companies are making efforts on inventory control enhancement to deliver services and products to their customers quickly at a low price. There is absolutely no doubt that inventory control enhances business operations. Better stock control means effective operations of a firm, leading to cost reduction and profitability. This paper showcases the significance of proper inventory management system applications in stockpiles. The author further emphasizes on the inventory control techniques applicable from design, for example, batch numbers, ordering techniques, and inventory classification. Also, the factors contributing to poor stock control are highlighted.

These four papers create a nice conceptual and theoretical understanding about the inventory management and control practices and how industry can benefit from them, including the JIT-based flexible practices, which add the dimension of readiness to industry-much needed in the current post-pandemic business setup.

The Importance of Flexible Workforce in Jit System: A Theoretical Approach
Tejaswini Kumar, Rashmi Srinivasaiah and Sagarika R

The aim of this paper is to theoretically analyze the importance of flexible workforce in any organization/firm. A literature review of 38 papers related to basic elements of Just-in-Time (JIT) in various sectors was carried out, and the data was analyzed, followed by a discussion on case studies related to workforce flexibility in different firms. This paper explains the importance of having a flexible workforce. From literature review, it was found that the JIT basic elements' continuous improvement and quality are closer to flexible workforce than other elements. To put it differently, adopting JIT through a flexible workforce will only be successful if continuous improvement is achieved, and by doing so, the quality of the entire organization will increase. This paper provides an overview of implementing JIT through flexible workforce in any organizational sector. It suggests a better way of using flexible workforce for the successful implementation of JIT.

Supply Chain Impact from End Customer Demand Volatility: A Computer-Based Simulation Approach
Martin Lockstrom

The bullwhip effect is a well-known phenomenon in supply chain management. Whereas past research has focused on factors like supply rationing, batch-size, lead time, etc., mainly from an analytical perspective, this paper broadens the research by specifically examining the impact from end customer demand volatility not only on demand (order size) but also on inventory levels and supply chain cost. The results confirm the findings of past research and bring new insights on the impact of component and compound bullwhip effect behavior across supply chain echelons by showing that end customer demand volatility acts as an amplifier.

The Impact of Quality Commitment on the Implementation of TQM in Hensa 168 Rubber Corporation
Nicca Jirah F Campos, Aurea Angelica A De Vera, Erikka Jielle M Gonzales, John Martin A Guevarra, Noemi L Ubaldo and Florinda G Vigonte

Total Quality Management (TQM) is defined as a continuous effort by the management as well as employees of a particular organization to ensure long term customer loyalty and satisfaction. This study aims to assess how a company's quality commitment may be described in terms of dedication and willingness, and to identify the difficulties encountered by the management and employees. It also aims to determine if there is a significant relationship between the company's commitment and difficulties encountered, and quality improvement. The authors have used IBM SPSS Statistics 25 to analyze the variables and performed ANOVA, independent sample t-test, linear regression and Spearman's Rho to determine the significance of the study and the relationship between the variables. The study concludes that quality commitment has a positive impact on TQM implementation. The higher the dedication and willingness of the employees, the easier it is to implement TQM.
