A blockchain is a distributed ledger of transactions that cannot be tampered with due to the use of cryptographic methods. It is decentralized, verified and immutable. These three characteristics are considered crucial to the success of any blockchain. The author explains how an efficient supply chain can be a source of competitive advantage according to the Resource-Based View (RBV). Although still at a nascent stage, the usage of blockchain technology deployment in supply chain operations can be a big source of competitive advantage. One of the most important reasons that could lead to widespread use of this technology is its ability to create trust among members in the blockchain. Members in the chain need not struggle to communicate their trustworthiness. Blockchain can record the transfer of assets between the two parties without the need for a trustworthy intermediary. Widespread use of blockchain technology in supply chain operations can significantly reduce costs for all the parties in the value chain and contribute to enhanced efficiencies.

Tourism is an important industry in India and contributes significantly to the services economy. Of the many categories within tourism, ecotourism is gaining popularity the world over. It is defined as 'responsible travel to natural areas that conserves the environment, sustains the well-being of local people, preserves the local culture, and ensures community participation with economic benefits. The paper, Experiential Modules from the Perspective of an Eco-Resort in Goa by Lyseth M DSouza, Vimlesh Prabhudesai and Filipe Rodrigues e Melo, describes the efforts of a popular eco-resort in Goa, a state of India. This resort developed a business model around the core principles of experiential marketing and ecotourism to attract tourists. The goal of eco-resorts is to create appropriate ambience to ensure sustained tourist footfalls. This is possible by creating positive customer experiences. The resort that is the focus of discussion in this paper used Strategic Experiential Modules (SEMs) to create the desired experiences. The modules included Sense, Feel, Think, Act and Relate. The resort, in existence for over two decades with nearly 75 cottages, was successful in attracting tourists as a result of SEM. The authors elaborate how each of the elements in the SEM was implemented by the resort.

The entrepreneurship experiences of Sridhar Vembu, founder and CEO of India-based multinational technology company Zoho Corporation are presented in the form of a case study Entrepreneurship Journey of Sridhar Vembu of Zoho: Taking Silicon Valley to the Village by Koti Vinod Babu and Namratha V Prasad. Vembus company Zoho was in the business of offering end-to-end network management solutions and eventually diversified into cloud-based productivity tools. The case describes the extraordinary journey of Vembu as he embarked on expanding his business operations. He took the road less traveled. He was keen to hire employees from near their native places instead of prompting them to migrate to cities. In doing so, he wanted to reverse the trend of rural-urban migration. He eventually opened many offices in rural areas and gradually turned into a social entrepreneur. This he believed was a model for technology-led rural development, which also afforded employees the right work-life balance as they stayed nearer to their hometowns. The efforts of Vembu were appreciated and recognized by the Government of India (GoI).

Enhancing Supply Chain Capabilities with Blockchain Deployment: An RBV Perspective
Pankaj M Madhani

Blockchain has been widely acknowledged as a disruptive technology to improve supply chain performance. For achieving operational efficiency and quality excellence, organizations need the underlying supply chain capabilities. Supply chain capability is considered a higher-level capability to reconfigure various capabilities to achieve excellence in supply chain operations. Blockchain deployment in supply chains enhances operational and strategic capabilities that ultimately lead to better supply chain performance. The study investigates the blockchain from Resource-Based View (RBV) perspectives as an enabler of various capabilities that disrupt supply chain operations. RBV theory explains how a firm can achieve a competitive advantage by transforming its unique resources into capabilities. The prime focus of the study is to demonstrate the capabilities and benefits of blockchain deployment in the supply chain based on RBV perspectives and provide various frameworks to emphasize supply chain transformations on blockchain deployment.

Experiential Modules from the Perspective of an Eco-Resort in Goa
Lyseth M DSouza, Vimlesh Prabhudesai and Filipe Rodrigues e Melo

In modern times, tourism and hospitality consumption has become more qualitative, more demanding and more varied (Ritchie et al., 2011). Vacationers look forward to a stupendous, fun-filled and pleasurable holiday (Holbrook and Hirschman, 1982; and Schmitt, 1999a and 2003). The new mantra world over is sustainability and care for the ecology, and more people are moving towards these new modes of tourism which encompass education, experience and conservation. Staging unforgettable experiences helps to build loyalty and customer satisfaction which is beneficial to both the company and the customer (Witthaus, 2004), since customers develop recognition and purchase goods or services after they experience activities and perceive stimulations (Schmitt, 1999a). This paper discusses the experiential modules of Schmitt (1999b) as practiced through the experiential marketing strategies staged at an eco-resort in Goa, from November 2018 to October 2019. The qualitative research included semi-structured interviews, participant observations and secondary data analysis. The results show that activities and events built around sensory and emotional experiences have a high impact intensity which helps to create memories. Designing experiences by stimulating the five senses produce emotional attachment towards the resort.
