Role of Neuro-Linguistic Programming Techniques in Developing Soft Skills: A Literature Review
Abstract

The study shows the benefits of implementing Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) techniques in ESL classrooms, highlighting their role in developing soft skills. Various studies on NLP have shown the positive impact on self-esteem, leadership skills, speaking skills, writing skills, creative skills, and critical thinking skills. The study brings out the effects of varied NLP techniques such as anchoring, rapport building, modeling, mirroring, reframing, swish pattern, and cognitive boosters. It also examines how NLP can help learners acquire the essential soft skills and how various innovative techniques help in enhancing the required life skills in students. The study consolidates various suggestions in this regard, underscoring how incorporating NLP techniques into curriculum would indeed help students acquire the essential life skills.

Introduction

English language teaching has been viewed with the spirit of incorporating innovations into teaching methodologies these days. Researchers have focused on discovering various approaches and techniques that would make English language acquisition easy and interesting. One such approach that has indeed led to the acquisition of language and personal development through a natural phenomenon is Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP).
