Abstract

This paper provides a thorough exploration of the key elements influencing the quality of Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs), examining the quality parameters at the various stages of MOOC development and the evolving landscape of quality assessment. Many MOOCs offered by prestigious universities and business schools cover among other things, business strategies, management techniques and organizational development. The paper delves into existing literature to establish a foundation for understanding MOOC quality parameters and MOOC development stages. The background section elucidates the complexities of MOOCs and highlights the need for a nuanced evaluation of quality in these educational platforms. The paper critically examines MOOC evaluation, focusing on two key aspects: the stages of MOOCs and quality dimensions. It discusses best practices, models for high-quality MOOC development, and strategies for achieving quality objectives. Exploring existing standards, frameworks, and guidelines, it offers insights into quality measures and introduces new evaluation developments. The paper concludes with discussions on the current state of MOOC quality, proposing future research avenues.
