Design and Development of Home Electric Load Control Using MBELC Module
Abstract

Electricity powers everything from household tasks to industrial processes. With rising global energy demand, reducing waste and consumption is crucial, especially in homes where excessive use of electronics can lead to high bills. This study seeks to design and develop a home electric load control using microcontroller based electric load control (MBELC) module. In this setup, an Arduino R3 controlled by a programmable integrated circuit (IC) measures electrical load and displays data on a 16  2 LCD (liquid crystal display) screen. The circuit trips at 95% load (855 VA), and a verbal alert notifies the user at 80% (720 VA). FourPoints suggests installing an energy management unit with a 4.0 A MCB (miniature circuit braker) to limit devices to 748 Watts, considering a 0.85 power factor.

Introduction

In the present society, all the activities, from household to industrial, are powered by electrical systems, using electricity.
