Businesses are increasingly incorporating environmental considerations into their core strategies, as societal concerns about environmental degradation grow. They understand that these efforts can lead to both financial and environmental improvements. The increasing number of research papers on this topic indicates that researchers are interested in examining the connection between environmental and firm performance. This study looks at 334 papers from 2004 to 2025, indexed by Scopus. The study conducts a bibliometric analysis of the relationship between environmental performance and firm performance. It primarily focuses on highly cited research papers and uses keyword and thematic analysis to look for similar terms and research themes. The results reveal the top sources, keywords, and trending topics in the subject examined. For the analysis, the study uses VOSviewer and Bibliometrix (in R language).
In academic and practical business contexts, the relationship between environmental performance and firm performance has become a central theme (Clarkson et al., 2010, Claver et al., 2006; Elsayed & Paton, 2004; Horváthová, 2010; Horváthová, 2012; Lee et al., 2015, Lundgren & Zhou, 2017).
