Evaluating the Influence of PMKVY Trainers’ Expertise on Training Effectiveness Using Kirkpatrick Model: A Moderation Analysis
Abstract

Assessing the effectiveness of training programs is a qualitative challenge, as it involves subjective evaluation. This study investigates the moderating impact of trainers from Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) institutes on the link between the various aspects associated with Training Effectiveness (TE) and its constituent elements, as delineated by the Kirkpatrick framework. The key data for this study was gathered from 357 PMKVY beneficiaries from Sikkim. Moderation analysis was performed to check the degree of influence of PMKVY trainers at different levels of training effectiveness. The results show that the dependent variable (TE) is a significant predictor of the independent variables (Reaction, Learning, Behavior and Results). The trainers’ degree of expertise, particularly in PMKVY program, serves as a statistically significant moderator in the link between different elements and the levels of training effectiveness.
