Ranking Technology Business Incubators in Himachal Pradesh Using Data Envelopment Analysis
Abstract

Introduction

Technology Business Incubators (TBIs) are crucial entities that support the development of early-stage technology-based companies. They provide essential resources and services to enhance the survival and growth of startups, playing a vital role in the innovation ecosystem (Carayannis et al., 2014; Grimaldi & Grandi, 2005). TBIs offer infrastructure, mentorship, access to funding, and networking opportunities, thereby fostering entrepreneurship and contributing to technological advancement and economic development (Rothaermel et al., 2007). Their significance is particularly pronounced in regional contexts like Himachal Pradesh, where they can help diversify the economy and cultivate a culture of innovation (Emerging Himachal, 2022 in State Startup Ranking, 2022).
