The concept of ‘New World Order’ has evolved significantly over time, reflecting the shifts in global power dynamics, economic structures and geopolitical alliances. The paper assesses the role of predominant nations, such as the US, China, Russia, the European Union (EU), and India, in shaping the evolving geopolitical framework. It is an attempt to understand the cause-and-effect relationship of current global events to have a crystal-clear understanding of the pattern of global order and the shift. The paper concludes that the gamut of global shift is vast and yet to take its final shape. It is in its transformative phase, which is very complex in itself. The factors behind the shift are many, which corroborates the fact that the global order is not in order and is in its churning phase.
The present global order has sparked a debate. In fact, arguments about the dissemination of power and the unfolding of new power are ever evolving. The modern global political landscape is marked by shifting alliances, military conflicts, and economic rivalries.
