Knowledge documentation is essential for safeguarding an organization’s intellectual capital; however, conventional documentation approaches are often hindered by concerns related to data integrity, security, and traceability. To address these challenges, this study proposes a blockchain-enabled framework for knowledge documentation within Amnpardaz Software Company, Tehran, Iran. Adopting a qualitative case study design, data were collected through semi-structured interviews with 15 domain experts, while the proposed architecture was assessed using the Architecture Tradeoff Analysis Method (ATAM). The results indicate that integrating the InterPlanetary File System (IPFS) with blockchain-based smart contracts for hash registration significantly strengthens document authenticity, enhances security, improves traceability, and supports long-term system sustainability. The proposed framework provides a practical foundation for implementing secure, transparent, and dependable knowledge documentation systems in technology-oriented organizations.
Organizational knowledge is one of the most critical intellectual assets. However, it remains vulnerable to threats such as employee retirement, turnover, downsizing, and organizational forgetting (Beikpour, 2018).
