Digital Banking Preferences and Service Quality Perceptions of Private and Small Finance Banks
Abstract

Introduction

Digital banking innovations have transformed customer access to financial services, making banking faster, more convenient, and more customercentric. In India, private and small finance banks play a key role in providing diversified financial services. Despite national-level research on digital banking adoption (DBA), limited attention has been given to regional differences, particularly in Gujarat, where demographic patterns, income levels, and digital literacy may differ from metropolitan areas. Understanding customer preferences, service quality (SQ) perceptions, and adoption behaviors in this region is crucial for banks seeking to tailor strategies for local population. This study addresses this gap by examining differences in DBA, SQ, and banking preferences between private and small finance bank customers in Gujarat.
