Abstract

The Alaska Summit 2025 represented a pivotal moment in US-Russia relations, testing diplomatic strategies under President Donald Trump’s second term. It marked a turning point in the developing US-Russian relationship. The summit was intended to discuss ways to rebalance bilateral ties, tackle security issues, and redefine the US’s involvement with Russia and the international system in general, all framed within the larger framework of a new global order. While deep-rooted mistrust and competing objectives limited major breakthroughs, the summit established mechanisms for dialog, confidence-building, and incremental cooperation.
