An
Empirical Study of Particle Swarm Optimization for Cluster
Analysis
-- Satchidananda
Dehuri
This
paper investigates the use of Particle Swarm Optimization
(PSO) for cluster analysis. In clustering, primitive exploration
with minimum prior knowledge consists of research across a
wide variety of communities. The diversity in the field of
PSO-based clustering equips us with many tools. This paper
provides an integrated framework of the diversified PSO-based
clustering. In addition, a novel Particle Swarm Optimization
(PSO) algorithm using the concept of aging of particles like
bird within a flock is provided. The effectiveness of this
concept is demonstrated by cluster analysis. Results show
that the model provides enhanced performance and maintains
more diversity in the swarm and thereby allows the particles
to be robust to trace the changing environment.

Intelligence for ELDB Systems through DWH and DM Solutions
-- K
Chandra Sekharaiah and Upakaram Gopal
The
computing scenario of analyzing large-scale data applications
has become a challenge for managerial decision-making. The
state-of-the art business processes require the enterprise
executives to take to Data Warehouse (DWH) systems, lest their
decisions are unstructured and losing. This paper gives an
overview of data warehousing and pattern discovery techniques
for business intelligence in taking selective decisions based
on the business data. It also explains three solutions to
handling ELDB systems for enterprise applications, and gives
the related product details.

Digital
Divide
Bridging
the Digital Divide: A
Survey of E-Initiatives in India
--
Dhiraj Sharma and Neeraj Sharma
With
the advances in the area of Information Technology, the digital
divide, i.e., the gap between the urban people (who have easy
access to technology) and rural people (who do not have an
easy access to technology) is increasing day-by-day. The success
story of the Indian IT industry has benefitted only the urban
populace, whereas the overall scenario for rural India is
pathetic. Today, the Indian government authorities and organizations,
and many NGOs are developing and experimenting with various
business models, all over the country, with the objective
of providing IT means and solutions to the rural masses; and
at the same time, taking care of their business interests.
This paper examines and takes note of such IT initiatives,
and highlights their basic approaches and makes distinction
in terms of their objectives.

The Next Generation
-- Priya
Shanmugam
Wireless
technology has evolved rapidly, and is playing an increasing
role in the lives of people throughout the world. Today, all
organizations, whether small or big, rely heavily on electronic
communication and data transfer. With the advent of Wireless
Fidelity (Wi-Fi), many network users have received tremendous
benefit from its capabilities. Wi-Fi is an emerging technology
that has shown signs of incredible growth in the past few
years. The prospects for continued growth are also substantial
for the coming years. Both business and consumers have adopted
Wi-Fi for a variety of reasons like speed, cost savings, convenience,
etc. In India, the majority of organizations that have Wireless
Local Area Networks in place belong to the hospitality and
travel industry.

Service-oriented
Architecture
Anatomy
of Service-oriented Architecture
--
Ravi
Kumar Jain B
Service-oriented
Architecture (SOA) has emerged from the previous practices
of object orientation and component-based application development
to promote better reusability and flexibility of business
components. This is a new approach towards building application
architecture for an organization. Successful implementation
of SOA requires several infrastructure components that can
support various services, and relationships between various
service providing applications to service the consuming applications.
The paper explains the infrastructrural components of a typical
SOA and discusses the key architectural and design decisions
along with various layers of SOA.
